Software freedom means no lock-in.

Couldn’t decide on one quote for this post, so I’m going with two. Read them both.

The 4 Software Freedoms: -The freedom to run it for any purpose -The freedom to study and change how it works -The freedom to distribute copies and help your neighbor -The freedom to distribute copies of your modified versions (Paraphrased from the Free Software Definition @ www.gnu.org) "You know, there are some words I've known since I was a schoolboy: 'With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably.' Those words were uttered by Judge Aron Satie as wisdom and warning. The first time any man's freedom is trodden on, we're all damaged." -Jean-Luc Picard
